Read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill
One of the first things all new entrepreneurs should do is read the book, “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.
It is important to point out that Think and Grow Rich is NOT a get rich quick plan. In fact, the title can easily be misunderstood given the sceptical eye society has toward anything to do with the words “rich”, and “quick” in the title, and for good reason, there is a lot of garbage out there.
However, this book is a must-read for anyone who sincerely wants to achieve success. It is especially useful for those entrepreneurs who haven’t had the luxury of growing up with someone mentoring or teaching you the principles of success and achievement from a young age.
This book teaches the foundation principles that achievement is based on, and provides a formula to follow. It was published in 1937 and based on the 20 – 25 years of research Hill completed by studying the habits of the super rich, the wealthiest and most successful American businessmen in the early and mid 1900’s. Hill undertook this lifetime project at the suggestion and under the sponsorship of US steel billionaire, Andrew Carnegie. Some of Hill’s subjects of study included Henry Ford, President Roosevelt (whom Hill advised in the late 1930’s), Thomas Edison, Charles Schwab and many more.
The book begins with an interesting discussion on how to know exactly where to place your focus, which alone, can take most people to a step much higher than they have ever experienced previously. Keep following what Mr. Hill teaches in this book and you can achieve your goals in record time.
Another great thing about this book is that you can begin to apply the knowledge and skills you learn while you are reading the book. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish as you read.
In my case, I bought the audio book in addition and listen to it on my morning runs. Needless to say, I have listened to this book several times. It’s just one of the many resources I have benefitted from.
You can download an audio version from an audio book club such as Audible.com, for your Ipod, or other MP3 player, or buy the print version at most bookstores.
